Egypt will play against Togo on Tuesday with its full strength as the technical staff seeks the best use of the match, the Pharaohs’ goalkeeping coach Zaki Abdel-Fattah revealed on Monday.
Togo’s clash will be the second for the Egyptians during their current training camp in Sudan, before they face Mozambique in a World Cup qualifier on 1 June. The seven-time African champions defeated Cameroon 2-1 in their first friendly on Sunday.
“Togo’s clash will be more important for us so will play it with our best line up, especially as players of both Ahly and Zamalek joined the camp today,” Abdel-Fattah was quoted as saying by Egyptian news agency MENA on Monday.
“Our performance against Cameroon was moderate. We will try players as much as we can against Togo to reach the best squad that will face Mozambique.
“The technical staff is in a hurry to build a new squad before the official engagements. We depend on playing a lot of friendly matches to assess our performance,” added the goalkeeping tactician.
Bob Bradley’s team was scheduled to face Senegal on 25 May but this game became doubtful after Morocco revealed that they will host Senegal on the same date.
The Egyptian Football Association contacted their Zambian counterpart in order for the latter to replace Senegal in Friday’s friendly game.
Egypt is in the midst of preparing for their 2014 World Cup qualifier against Mozambique, set to be played on first June.
