Moahmed Salah first training session with Basel

Egypt forward Mohamed Salah is delighted after enjoying a warm reception in his first day with Basel as he highlighted the difference he expects between Egyptian and European football.
The 20-year-old signed for Basel from Arab Contractors earlier this summer as the Swiss champions began pre-season ahead of the Super League opener on July 14.

He will train for a few days with his new club before returning to the Egypt squad for this month’s crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Central African Republic.

“I am very happy with my first training session at Basel,” Salah told Basel’s website.
“The FCB are a great club, I was impressed with the respectful way the club’s management had welcomed me.

“I’ve heard a lot about Basel from the Champions League and it would be a dream for me to play in this competition.
“It is a dream for every African player to come to Europe – I consider myself very lucky.”

“There are already differences with the game in Egypt. Here football is very technical and you constantly hit the ball rather hold it for long, everything goes very fast, one pass follows the other.”
