Al Ahly draws with Chelsea 1-1 | CAF Champions League

A first-half goal from Ivorian striker Oussou Konan was cancelled by Darko Opoko shortly after the break as both sides missed a number of chances to settle the game.
The draw gave Group B leaders Ahly their 10th point from four games as Chelsea move to second on five.

Summer signing Konan broke the deadlock when he followed in a Mohamed Abou-Treika header that hit the post.

In the second half, Opoko pounced on a poor piece of defending by the visitors to slam home a left-footed half-volley past Sherif Ekrami.

With one minute remaining, Chelsea made another serious threat when Jackson Owusu saw his superb freekick bounce off the bar.

The best chance of the match came at the mercy of substitute Mohamed Barakat, who had all the time in the world to fire home in injury time, but his poor finish could only hit the keeper’s legs.
