Al Ahly news: BARAKAT, ASHOUR and METEB are ready
Midfielders Mohamed Barakat and Hossam Ashour will be ready for Ahly’s match with Zamalek in the African Champions League on Sunday despite carrying minor injuries, according to the club doctor.
“Ashour suffered a minor injury during training but he will be available for the game against Zamalek,” Dr Ehab Ali was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.
“Barakat is suffering from a back muscle strain that sidelined him from Wednesday’s training session but he will be available for the Cairo derby,” he added.
Meteb is fit
Meteb, whose last competitive game was with the national Olympic team against Japan early in August, is now set to make his comeback after resuming full training.
“Emad Meteb is now fit for the derby clash with Zamalek after appearing in good shape during training,” football director Sayed Abdul-Hafiz told the club’s official website.

Ahmed Hassan returns
The 37-year-old midfielder had filed a complaint against his club demanding the termination of his contract with the club as the latter failed to fulfill their financial duties toward him.
Despite his complaint, the the veteran midfielder hasn’t skipped training and he is fit to play against Ahly.
Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed
Zamalek’s goalkeeper Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed may play in Sunday’s clash against Ahly in the Champions League quarter final.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper had sustained a hamstring strain during Zamalek’s 5-0 win over the club’s youth team in a friendly on Wednesday.
