The Pharaohs’ friendly match against Brazil, slated for 12 October, was called off after the Brazilian Football Association announced on its official website Thursday that Brazil planned to play Iraq on the same day.
One week ago, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced that the national team would play two friendly matches with Brazil and Tunisia on 12 and 16 October, respectively in Abu Dhabi to prepare for 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
The EFA have since opened talks with their South Korean and Chinese counterparts in hopes of scheduling matches to replace the cancelled Brazil friendly.
