The Mozambique Football Federation has decided to part ways with German coach Gert Engels three days before hosting Egypt in the fifth match of World Cup qualifiers.
“We amicably terminated the contract of coach Gert Engels due to lack of progress in the team,” secretary-general of the Mozambique Football Federation, Philip Johane said in a statement on Thursday.
His assistants John Chissano and Mano Mano will take over as interim caretaker and will lead the team against Egypt next Sunday.
