Egypt head coach Bob Bradley has dropped Hull City wing back Ahmed Elmohamady from his final squad ahead of this month’s second leg 2014 World Cup qualifiers play offs against Ghana.
Bradley named seven-foreign based players in his squad for the November 19 game but had no space for ‘Elmo’ who is the most regular Egyptian player in the top five leagues in Europe.
Elmo who is an understudy to Ahmed Fathi in the national team came on as a second half substitute in last month’s 6-1 drubbing against Ghana in Kumasi in the first leg.
However, Hull City outcast Mohammed Geddo retains his place in the squad despite not being match fit while Switzerland-based trio Mohamed Salah, Mohamed Elneny and Mahmoud ‘Kahraba’ have been unsurprisingly named in the squad as well as Lierse’s Hossam Ghaly.
Kuwait-based forward Amr Zaki completes the list of foreign based players.
Egypt have a mission impossible task to overturn a 6-1 defeat suffered in the first leg if they hope to qualify for the 2014 World Cup.
