Al Ahly still on top of their group in the league after 2-0 win against Smouha FC.
Abdallah El-Said, seeking to plug the gap left by the retirement of talismanic playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika, scored twice as a depleted Ahly side made light of several absences to defeat Smouha 2-0 and move top of the Egyptian Premier League Group A.
The 28-year-old, who was criticized for some disappointing displays lately, moved back to his favorite position as a playmaker, producing flashes of the talent that prompted Ahly to sign him from Ismaily in 2011.
He scored either side of the interval, including a fortuitous goal, to guide Ahly to their second consecutive win after they beat El-Entag El-Harby 2-0 in their league opener.
