AL AHLY RECALLS GEDO FROM HULL CITY

Hull City has released on-loan striker Gedo back to Al Ahly.

Gedo has hardly figured for the Tigers since arriving earlier this season.

Mamdouh Eid said on Twitter: “Gedo has decided to return to Al Ahly to help the team towards the league and Champions League titles. Great Times at the KC. Thanks2the Gr8 Fans”

The move comes after the Egyptian club failed to convince talisman playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika not to retire, while they recently suspended striker Ahmed Abdel-Zaher for a ‘political’ gesture made in the Champions League final.

Since Steve Bruce arrived as boss, he has helped City to nurture a special relationship with the Cairo giants, who are the Manchester United of Egyptian football.

A recent approach to take up-and-coming defender Rami Rabia, 20, on-loan has been rejected but Bruce yesterday admitted he was “one for the future” and that he is monitoring his situation.
