Zamalek fined EGP 30,000 and -3 Points

Zamalek were held to a 1-1 draw in Cairo, the match was marred by an incident which saw some fans storm the stands holding flares.

Even though the referee resumed play after a few seconds, the Egyptian FA decided to hand Hodoud the three points of the week 5 tie.

Zamalek, who were also fined EGP 30,000, have now slipped to fifth of Group B of the Egyptian Premier League.

The Cairo giants are likely to protest against the FA ruling after their board had declared last week that ‘they are not responsible for the acts of the crowd’.

The supporters responsible for the incident are believed to be members of the Zamalek Ultras White Knights group.
