Ahly suffered the absence of striker Emad Meteb in recent matches and it seems that the player will remain on the sidelines indefinitely.
“Meteb is confirmed to miss the next league match against Dakhlya and the African Champions League first leg with Ahly Benghazi as his hamstring pains renewed” .
The Cairo giants are supposed to face the Libyan side on 21 March in the first leg that will be played at the Zouiten Stadium in Tunisia due to security concerns in Libya.
“The technical staff set 29 March as the date of the return leg with Ahly Benghazi,” the Egyptian club said in a statement on its official website Saturday.
Ahly Benghazi qualified for Round 16 after a 2-0 home win over Ghanaian outfit Berekum Chelsea.
Defending champions, Ahly, escaped a potentially embarrassing exit in Round 32 in Alexandria last Sunday, beating Tanzanian side Young Africans 4-3 on penalties.
