Elmohamady becomes the first Egyptian to reach FA Cup final

Hull City’s winger Ahmed Elmohamady became the first Egyptian player to reach an English FA Cup final after seeing his team defeat Sheffield United 5-2 in the semifinal on Sunday.

Elmohamady played the full match, the Tigers’ first FA Cup semi-final since 1930. The 26-year-old provided an assist to help teammate David Meyler score the fifth goal seconds before the final whistle.

“Such an honour to be the first Egyptian to reach the FA Cup final!” Elmohamady said on his Facebook page following the game.

Booking a place in the final showdown against Arsenal – also at Wembley – Hull City will be looking for their first ever FA Cup title.
