Essam El-Hadary signed with Wadi Degla until 2016

Veteran Egyptian goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary signed a two-year contract extension with Wadi Degla on Monday night.

 

Being free to join any club after his contract with Sudanese side El-Merreikh expired, the 41-year-old guard had signed a one-year contract for Degla at the start of this season.

The former Ahly, Zamalek and Ismaily player, El-Hadary, played an instrumental role at Degla this season in both the domestic league and also the African Confederation Cup, though they were eliminated from the latter in Round 16.

After signing the new contract, El-Hadary reportedly hailed the professionalism of Degla’s management, insisting that the will be competing for the Egyptian Premier League title next season.

He also said that he is eying playing with the national team at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2018 World Cup.
