Ahly have agreed on star defender Rami Rabia’s move to Sporting Lisbon after initially turning down the Portuguese side’s bid.
Rabia, 21, has been linked with Sporting for quite a while, but financial disagreements between the Liga Sagres side and Ahly were thought to have closed the door on a potential deal.
The African champions had initially set a 1.5 million euro price tag on Rabia’s head, but the Portuguese league runners-up instead presented a 550,000 euro offer to be paid in installments.
After a possible deal was believed to have fallen through, Ahly came back to allow Rabia to leave for Portugal, as the Egypt international is keen to move abroad.
However, the amount of Rabia’s transfer fee or the payment method remains unclear.
Should the deal go through, Rabia will be joining ex-Zamalek midfield marvel Shikabala in Lisbon.
