Ahly were held to a 1-1 draw by archrival Zamalek on Thursday.
Zamalek’s forward Ayman Hefny opened the scoring in the 30 minutes, while Walid Soliman scored the equaliser for Ahly four minutes later.
“We deserved to win,” Garrido said in the post-match news conference.
“Zamalek’s keeper saved many chances from my players.”
“I am happy with the players’ performance during the game.”
Ahly keep their third-place position at the league table with 33 points, eight behind leaders Zamalek.
