Ahly’s first goalkeeper Sherif Ekramy returned to regular trainings on Thursday, after weeks of absence.
“Ekramy has returned Wednesday evening from London after medical checks for his daughter Asia revealed she was okay and doesn’t need a surgery,” the Cairo Giants official website revealed Thursday morning.
The 30-year-old keeper was sidelined this season due to a knee injury in November, is being prepared to guard the Red Devils net against Ittihad El-Shorta Saturday on match 20 of the Egyptian Premier League.
Ekramy’s last appearance was against Petrojet on 20 January after recovering from injury but was out of action due to family reasons before Talae El-Geishs 3-1 win.
He also missed the Cairo derby against Zamalek that ended with a 1-1 draw last week in addition to ENPPIs 1-0 defeat this week too. The goal keeper in both games was third keeper Mosaad Awad who let in 10 goals in 10 games.
