Italian side Fiorentina have the option to buy the on-loan Egyptian at the end of next season and Chelsea are on track to make another big profit from another player sale as the club expect Fiorentina to pay up to £18 million for Mohamed Salah.
Having signed Salah on loan in January, Fiorentina have triggered their option to keep the Egyptian for next season, costing them £1.5m.
Even though the final fee for Salah has been estimated to be £9.5m, Chelsea will start the bid at a much higher price.
Chelsea aims to make bank on the Egyptian, who they signed for £11m from Swiss team Basel in January last year.
Salah had failed to impress Blues boss Jose Mourinho for a spot in his starting lineup and made less than 5 appearances for Chelsea this season. The Egyptian known as The Pharaoh — has since had big success in Italy and Fiorentina scoring 7 goals in all competitions.
Chelsea have developed a reputation over the past couple of years for managing to sell their unwanted players for a big sum.
Last year alone, Chelsea redeemed almost £130m on the sales of Juan Mata, Romelu Lukaku, David Luiz, and Kevin De Bruyne.
