LIVERPOOL have approached Chelsea to sign Mohamed Salah, according to reports.
Italian publication Calcio Mercato Web claim the Reds have been monitoring the winger’s situation closely.
The former Basel man had been due to stay on loan at Fiorentina after signing an 18-month loan deal with the club last January.
However, he is understood to have severed ties with the Serie A side and has reportedly been eyeing a move to Inter Milan.
This has alerted Liverpool to his availability, and the report suggests they have made ‘first contact’ with their Premier League rivals.
However, the Reds are said to be holding off on making an official offer until they understand the full situation regarding the termination of Salah’s loan agreement.
It’s believed Liverpool foresee Uefa sanctions being enforced should Chelsea and Fiorentina fail to come to an agreement – something they want to keep clear of.
