ENNPI winger Mahmoud ‘Kahraba’ Abdel-Moneam has been given the green light to discuss a possible move to Zamalek after his club agreed ‘in principle’ to let him join the Cairo giants.
According to local reports, ENPPI set a LE7 million price tag on the Egyptian international.
Kahraba is one of the hottest prospects in the Egyptian football and is a regular member of Egypt’s U-23 team.
He was also included in the starting line-up of Egypt’s senior side when they defeated Tanzania 2-0 in their opening African Cup of Nations qualifier last month.
After spending 18 months in the Swiss league where he played for Luzern and Grasshopper, Kahraba returned to his boyhood club last January, producing some fine displays to help the team finish third in the Egyptian Premier League.
Zamalek are also chasing another ENPPI winger in Ahmed Refaat, but his club are reportedly reluctant to offload him.
The White Knights have signed three players in the summer transfer window Maritimo playmaker Mohamed Ibrahim, an ex-Zamalek player, Masry left-back Adel Gomaa and Tersana youngster Mohamed Gamal.
