VIDEO: Maqassa 3-1 Don Bosco | CAF Confederation Cup
Hosts Maqassa defeated Don Bosco of DR Congo 3-1 in Cairo on Saturday, in the first leg of the round of 32 in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Maqassa made the most of the home advantage and managed to score only eleven minutes in, when attacking midfielder Amr Barakat found the net. Winger Mohamed Gaber scored the second goal four minutes before the break.
In the second half Don Bosco tried to find the net but their efforts were halted by the Egyptian outfit’s defence. Striker Nana Poku then scored the third goal for Maqassa, ending the hopes of the Congolese side.
DR Congo’s Don Bosco scored their only goal of the game two minutes before the final whistle to finish the game 3-1 down.
Don Bosco will host Maqassa, who reached the round of 32 after beating Defense Force of Ethiopia in the preliminaries, in the second leg on 19 March.
