Cairo DERBY will be held at SUEZ stadium | Ahly v Zamalek 2016
The Cairo Derby will be held at an army-owned stadium in Suez, the Football Association (EFA) announced on Thursday.
Zamalek earlier had their request to stage the game at Cairos Petrosport Stadium, which hosted most of their home matches this season, turned down by the interior ministry, which has the final word over where football matches take place.
Alexandrias Borg El-Arab Stadium, Egypts biggest venue, hosted the reverse fixture last February which saw newly-crowned league champions Ahly claim a 2-0 win.
Zamalek defeated Ahly in last years Egypt Cup final at Petrosport to complete a rare domestic double but have not beaten their nemesis in the league since 2007.
The EFA also said in a brief statement on its official website that Norwegian referee Svein Oddvar will be in charge of the match.
