Valencia are interested in Egyptian international Amr Warda

Egyptian international winger Amr Warda claimed that Valencia are interested in his services but that a deal has yet to be reached with the La Liga side.

In a phone-in with a radio program, the 23-year-old also revealed that boyhood club Ahly have contacted him for a potential return, but he turned down their overtures as he hopes to continue his adventure overseas.

“Valencia have contacted my agent, but no agreement has been reached yet,” Warda said.

“Officials from Ahly also talked with me for a potential return but I refused, as I’m keen to continue my career in Europe. I’m looking forward to playing in La Liga.”

Warda has been a regular for his Greek side this season, scoring four goals in 12 appearances so far.

Egypt manager Hector Cuper had announced that Warda, who has been used sparingly by the Argentinean boss, will be part of his 2017 Africa Cup of Nations squad.

Warda sealed his move to Panetolikos from Ahly in the summer of 2015, as his move to Greece remains his only adventure abroad. His club lie ninth in the Greek league.
