Cuper calls up ten foreign-based players for Tunisia’s match

Egypt national-team coach Hector Cuper has asked ten foreign-based players to join a closed camp in preparation for the game against Tunisia in the first round of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Pharaohs have been drawn in Group J alongside Tunisia, Niger and Swaziland.

The group champions will make it to the tournament stage in Cameroon in January 2019, along with the three best teams from among those taking second place in the group stage.

Egypt start the AFCON 2019 qualifiers campaign against North African neighbors Tunisia on June 11.

Egypt’s list foreign-based players includes winger Omar Gaber, who plays for Swiss side Basel. Gaber returns to Egypt after missing the last friendly against Togo last March.

Meanwhile, Sporting Braga’s striker Ahmed Hassan Kouka has been sidelined and will not be invited to play against Tunisia.
