Egypt, who are hoping to make their first World Cup appearance since 1990, are in a must-win situation to regain the top spot in Group E now that they have slipped to second with six points, just behind surprise package Uganda on seven.

Hector Cuper, have asked fans for support ahead of a crucial game against Uganda in the fourth round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday.

After losing 1-0 to Uganda in Kampala on Thursday in the third round of the qualifiers, Cuper highlighted the games left to play.

“The qualifiers are not over yet, we still have nine points to fight for,” Cuper said at the post-match press conference.

“We tried more than one formation and fielded many attackers, but we still could not get a better result.”

Uganda

Uganda interim coach Moses Basena says Tuesday’s Group E FIFA World Cup qualifier return clash against Egypt on Tuesday is like a Cup final.

“We respect the Egyptian national team as a whole. We don’t play against Mohamed Salah or Mohamed Elneny only, but their entire 11 man squad” Basena told On Sport TV.

“We respect all of the Egyptian players on an individual level, but we need to focus on the players as a group.”

Basena says his side will be able to cope with the pressure at the Borg El-Arab Stadium.

“We are aware of the strength of the Egyptian team when they play at home, but I don’t care about the pressure and I am only focused on the level of the players” he added.

Uganda Cranes have no injury qualms with striker Emmanuel Okwi and midfielder Farouk Miya declared fit after picking knocks in the first game.

Man to Watch

Denis Onyango (Uganda) – Although Egypt didn’t test him that much at Namboole, Onyango was still Uganda Cranes’ best player with three match winning saves.

If the Uganda Cranes are to leave Alexandria with maximum or at least a point, the reigning African Footballer of the Year must be at his mercurial best.

Mohamed Salah (Egypt) – The Liverpool attacker was kept under close watch by Godfrey Walusimbi at Namboole but still had a few decent touches on the ball and also forced a brilliant save from Onyango in the second half.

Playing at home in a make or break game for him, expect a different Salah and if he clicks, the visitors will be in for a long 90 minutes.
