VIDEO: Al Ahly trashed Beni Suef Telephones 5-0 in Egypt CUP
Ahly cruised to an easy 5-0 victory over lower-tier Beni Suef Telephones to reach the Egypt Cup round of 16 at Cairos Petrosport Stadium on Friday
Goals from midfielders Hesham Mohamed, Amr El-Sulaya and Moroccan striker Walid Azaro sent Ahly three-nil into the dressing rooms before a penalty from the veteran Emad Meteb and playmaker Ahmed Hamdi sealed the win.
The game, which was managed by assistant coach Ahmed Ayoub, saw ex-Zamalek winger Ahmed Hamoudi waste two first-half penalties before winning another one, which Meteb successfully converted after the break.
After Hamoudi was denied by the keeper from the spot in the 14th minute, summer-signing Mohamed opened the scoring five minute later on the rebound from inside the six-yard box after the formers effort hit the woodwork.
Shortly afterwards, midfield partner El-Sulaya made it two after meeting a left-wing cross from marauding full-back Hussein El-Sayed at the near post.
Ex-Basel winger Hamoudi failed again to score from 12 yards five minutes from time, before center-forward Azaro volleyed home from inside the six-yard box following a touch by Hamoudi.
Eleven minutes after the break, substitute Meteb made it four from the spot before the onrushing Hamdi found the roof of the net from inside the area to complete the rout.
Ahly will now meet Dakhleya in the last-16.
