Bob Bradley: “I am proud to welcome Omar Gaber to LAFC”
Egypt’s versatile defender Omar Gaber will complete a loan move to Los Angeles FC from Swiss giants Basel in January, both clubs announced on Tuesday.
LAFC announced that they had signed Egyptian international Omar Gaber, the defender/midfielder will be on a one year loan from his club team FC Basel of the Swiss League.

Gaber will be added to the roster as a Discovery Player using Targeted Allocation Money (TAM), at 25 years old Gaber is familiar with LAFC head coach Bob Bradley having played for him on the Egyptian National Team from 2011-13.
Bradley commented on the signing stating:
I loved working with all the Egyptian players, and had a great opportunity to get to know Omar during that time I am proud to welcome Omar Gaber to LAFC.
"He has a willingness to give everything he has on the field."

Gabers place on the field is unknown at the moment but LAFC general manager John Thorrington outlined expectations:
Omar is an incredibly talented player whose pace, athleticism, and ability fit perfectly with the exciting team we are building here at LAFC.
No doubt Gaber was signed due to previous experiences with coach Bradley and having played at the highest levels of both club and international soccer. Gabers play at both the midfield and backline may be a sign that Bradley will be looking for senior experience from the middle out positions to shore up the defense of the expansion LAFC.
