Liverpool pulled off something of a coup in the summer when they signed Mohamed Salah for around 40m, with the Egyptian now worth 100m more after a stunning campaign so far, That’s according to the CIES Football Observatory, who specialise in the scientific estimation of a player’s transfer value.
Salah has already scored more than 20 goals in his debut season with the Reds and there are already rumours that Europe’s elite are interested in prising him away come summer.
Mohamed Salah has hit the ground running since arriving at Liverpool in the summer from Roma, with such form reflected in his value of 140.5m.
Salah is the top-ranked Liverpool player, with Roberto Firmino second on 102.9m and 23rd overall.
Four other Reds make the list, with Gini Wijnaldum surprisingly next on 85.6m, in 44th place.
Summer signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (65th) is valued at 68.2m, marginally ahead of Sadio Mane (69th) on 66.3m.
Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur is the top Premier League player with a value of 194.7m, in third behind second-placed Messi (202.2m) and the highest-valued player, Neymar of Paris Saint-Germain (213m).
Cristiano Ronaldo, the current Ballon D’Or holder, is valued at 80.4m, placing him 49th in the list behind the likes of Nicolas Otamendi, Eric Dier and Alvaro Morata.
CIES explain their assessment takes into account the key criteria used by market factors such as age, position, contract duration, performance and international status.
