Mo Salah arrived in Spain this morning for treatment on his injured left shoulder with the Egyptian federation confirming the 25-year-old was in “high spirits” and “determined to return quickly to the ranks of the team”.
Spain was chosen by Liverpool’s medical staff to continue the treatment programme that started in England on Sunday
He will receive treatment on the continent accompanied by the president of the Egyptian federation, the national team doctor and Liverpool medics.
Scans revealed that Salah will need three weeks of treatment to recover from sprained ligaments in his shoulder and, therefore would be available for the world most prestigious competition.
Salah will remain in Spain with his doctors until he rejoins Egypt’s squad in Cairo ahead of travelling to Russia.
The World Cup begins on 14 June, with the host nation Russia taking on Saudi Arabia in the first Group A match.
Egypts first match, against Uruguay, takes place on the second day of the tournament.
