Ahly’s Striker Azzaro joins Chinese side Hebei C.F.F.C. for 10M USD
Egyptian giants Ahly said on Tuesday they were willing to accept a lucrative offer form Chinese side Hebei China Fortune F.C. for Moroccan striker Walid Azaro if it reached 10 million euros.
Azaro has been one of Ahly’s key players since joining in the summer of 2017 from Moroccan side Difaa El Jadida, enjoying a debut season to remember and establishing himself as the most deadly marksman in Egyptian football.

He became the highest scoring foreigner in a single season in the Egyptian Premier League’s history after netting 18 goals to power Ahly to a third consecutive league title.
Azaro did not make Morocco’s final cut for the World Cup finals in Russia but he was reportedly the subject of interest from Chinese club Hebei China Fortune F.C, whom Ahly said had tabled a 9.5 million euros offer to land him.
“Coach Patrice Carteron has agreed to let Azaro join Hebei China Fortune F.C. but the football committee said he would not be sold unless the offer reached 10 million euros,” Ahly said in a statement on their official website.
“Accordingly, Ahly have sent a letter to Hebei China Fortune F.C. to inform them of the price tag,” the Cairo giants added.
Azaro’s departure would be a blow to an Ahly side who are so dependent on his pace and finishing skills, given the dearth of reliable strikers in Egypt.
