Pyramids FC signs Ali Gabr & Ahmed Tawfik from Zamalek SC

Egyptian Pyramids Club have continued to splash their cash, landing two Zamalek stars: defender Ali Gabr and midfielder Ahmed Tawfik, the club announced early Monday.

“The 26-year-old Tawfik is a good addition to the team squad after the earlier landing of Gabr,” the club’s spokesman Ahmed Hassan stated on their official twitter account.

The club, which was previously known as Assiouty, had their budget revived by the buying of a Saudi investor believed to be Saudi’s General Authority of Sport Turki Al-Sheikh.

The details of contracting the two Zamalek stars, who are among the country’s best players in their positions, have not yet been revealed yet but the expense is believed to reach eight digits in Egyptian pounds.

A third player will be unveiled as the Club stated earlier they reached an agreement with three players.

Among the Pyramids’ new landings is Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry as the club’s chairman assisted by a number of the country’s well-known football figures, including Hadi Khashaba.

Since the sale last month, the club has signed many new players including Ahly and Zamalek target defender Abdallah Bakri, playmaker Mohamed ‘Afsha’ Magdi and Arab Contractors forward Mohamed Farouk, in addition to two Brazilian players.

The club is also reportedly in the process of signing several key figures in Egyptian football to strengthen their ranks ahead of the upcoming season.

The technical staff of the team are all Brazilian, under the helm of former Botafogo manager Alberto Valentim.
