Elmohamady scores his second goal of the season against Reading FC
Steve Bruces men looked on course for victory after Ahmed Elmohamady headed them in front early in the second half.
But Baldock fired Reading level in the third minute of stoppage time, after referee Darren England adjudged Villa skipper James Chester to have fouled Josh Sims.
Shortly after halftime with El Ghazi finding some space along the left wing, he was able to put a precision cross into the box and in front of the goal. Ahmed Elmohamady racing in from the wing put a header straight into the back of the net for his second goal of the season and El Ghazi earned the assist for which hed been working so hard.
Villa had earlier lost Jack Grealish to injury on an ultimately frustrating afternoon.
