LIVE CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE & CC quarter finals draw
The sixteen teams that qualified for the 2018 CAF Champions League and Confederations cup quarterfinal stage will know their opponents on Monday night during a draw that will be held in Cairo, Egypt.
For the Champions League, there will be six pots; one each for the four teams that cruised through as group winners and Pot 1 that will contain all the runners up. They include Esperance, E.S Setif, Horoya A.C and Premiero Agosto.
The other four pots will contain three balls with the names of the group winners Al Ahly, TP Mazembe, Wydad Casablanca and Etoil Du Sahel. Each pot will have three balls all with the same team.
Procedure
For every round –there will be four rounds for the four fixtures-, one ball from pot 1 will be picked. To find the opponent, a ball from each other pot (pots 2, 3, 4 &5) except the pot that has the team that played in the same group of the runner-up will be drawn and placed in the empty pot (6).
The three balls in Pot 6 will be mixed and one team picked. The team that has been picked will complete the fixture. According to the rules, the group winners will play the first leg away and host the return.
The same procedure will be repeated for the other three fixtures in both competitions.
Semi-finals draw
For the semi-finals, the two fixtures will be decided in a different format. The three quarterfinal fixtures will be labelled Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 and placed in one pot. The first two balls drawn will face each other in the semi-finals same to the third and fourth.
The ball drawn first play the first match at home while the second hosts the return leg.
