Al Masry 5-3 Nogoom FC | Match Highlights | Egyptian league
Al Masry survived what would have been a stunning comeback by top-flight debutantes Nogoom FC to record a thrilling 5-3 victory in the Egyptian Premier League on Tuesday.
The Port Said-based club raced into a 4-0 lead as the game looked dead and buried seven minutes into the second half.
Ahmed Yasser gave them an early lead from a corner, Mohamed Abdel-Latif doubled the advantage midway through the first half and Amr Moussa converted a penalty to make it 3-0 in the 36th minute.
In-form winger Eslam Eissa slotted home from a tight angle to add a fourth in the 52nd minute but Nogoom threatened to stage a brilliant comeback.
Forward Salah Amin netted a double, including a brilliant individual effort that saw him skip past several challengers with a mesmerizing piece of skill, and Mahmoud Abdel-Halim narrowed the gap to just one goal with eight minutes remaining.
But Masry ensured the night would not be spoiled when Haggag Eweis scored a fifth in stoppage time following a defensive mistake.
