Pyramids FC have appointed Ramon Diaz as their new coach
Argentine Ramon Diaz has been appointed Pyramids FCs new coach, succeeding the recently fired Hossam Hassan, and will take over his duties in just over a week.
“We have signed Argentine coach Ramon Diaz alongside a technical staff of other eight members,” reads a short statement on the clubs official Twitter account on Saturday morning.
“The coach will start his mission after attending next league match against El-Dakhleya. Club spokesman [and former Egypt star] Ahmed Hassan will be in charge of the team against El-Dakhleya,” the statement added.
On Friday, Pyramids chairman Turki Al-Sheikh said Hassan, 52, was fired after a draw with leaders Zamalek.

The big-spending side played out a 3-3 draw with Zamalek in a postponed game from the ninth matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.
The draw was the fifth in 11 matches. Although they have been unbeaten since the bald-headed boss took over in October, they have lost ground in the title race.
The new coach Diaz, 59, was a player for a host of famous clubs like River Plate, Napoli, Fiorentina, Inter Milan and Monaco.
He started his managerial career in 1995 by guiding home club River Plate.
Diaz guided Paraguays national team from 2014 to 2016 and then went on to have a successful stint in Saudi Arabia, guiding Al-Hilal for the league and cup titles in the 2016/2017 season.
He was a free agent after being sacked by Saudi club Al-Ittihad last December after a series of poor results.
Pyramids FC, who are second in the Egyptian Premier League team table with 39 points, will face El-Dakhleya on 4 February on the 21st matchday of the Egyptian Premier League.
