Egyptian League Live: El Entag v Al Ahly | Ismaily v Nogoom FC
Ahly will be looking to secure their sixth straight Egyptian league victory when they visit El-Entag El-Harby at Petro Sport Stadium in Cairo on Saturday.
The Cairo giants eye a quick return to winning ways after their 1-0 CAF Champions League stunning loss against minnows Simba SC of Tanzania in Dar es Salaam in the fourth round of the competitions group stage.
The game against El-Entag comes amid the mounting crisis between Ahly and the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) over the clubs fixtures in the league and the cup.
The EFA has recently postponed Ahlys game that was initially scheduled on February 28 against big-spending club Pyramids FC in the league and replaced it with a game against the same side but in the cup.
Ahly will have to keep the players focused only on football as a victory over El-Entag in the 22nd matchday of the competition means staying close to the leagues leading duo Zamalek and Pyramids.
The defending champions will continue to miss veteran defender Ahmed Fathi and Moroccan striker Walid Azaro both with muscular injuries as well as inspirational winger Walid Soliman due to a knee injury.
After resting them in El-Hodoud game, midfielder Amr El-Sulaya and right-back Mohamed Hani are back to the teams squad for El-Entag while injured midfielder Hossam Ashour is left out.
Ahly are currently third in the standings on 39 points, 6 adrift of runners-up Pyramids who have played four more games and 9 behind table-toppers Zamalek who have played one more.
