James Milner takes the ball out of Mohamed Salah’s hands | VIDEO

Liverpool are back top of the Premier League with just three weeks left until the end of the campaign.

Jurgen Klopp’s side beat Cardiff 2-0 in Wales but they had to work hard for their three points.

The first-half was nervy, with the relegation-threatened side clearly not watering their pitch in an attempt to slow down the Reds.

And it seemed to be working.

That was until the hour mark.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s low cross was powerfully swept home by Georginio Wijnaldum.

Cardiff had the perfect opportunity to equalise shortly after but Sean Morrison somehow missed a header with the goal gaping.

Then, with 10 minutes remaining, it was game over.

Morrison held onto Mohamed Salah for far too long and the Egyptian went to ground.

Referee Martin Atkinson immediately pointed to the spot.

After winning the spot-kick, Salah wanted to take it.

After all, he’s level on goals with Sergio Aguero at the top of the charts and did earn the penalty.

However, a video has emerged of James Milner literally taking the ball from his hands.

Salah looked extremely disappointed to be denied the chance to take it.

But, like he did during Liverpool’s recent late win against Fulham, Milner stuck it away to seal all three points.

The 33-year-old midfielder then mimicked using a walking stick and he explained it was for Virgil van Dijk.

“Virgil gives me plenty of stick for being an old man, so that one was for him really,” he explained.

Everyone associated with Liverpool will now become Manchester United fans. Well, for Wednesday evening at least…
