Kouka on target as Olympiacos down Lamia 3-2

Egypt striker Ahmed ‘Kouka’ Hassan helped lift Olympiacos to the Greek Cup semis after finding the net in an exciting 3-2 victory over Lamia on Wednesday.

With the quarter-final first-leg ending goalless, Lamia took the lead one minute before the interval, thanks to a goal from Daniel Adejo.

However, Kouka brought the hosts level on 59 minutes, cutting ahead of his marker to send a glancing header home following a corner.

Pape Abou Cisse scored twice to give Olympiacos a 3-1 lead before Leonardo Villalba converted a stoppage-time penalty for Lamia, but it was too little, too late.

Earlier this week, Kouka scored his first goal after re-joining Olympiacos on a short-term loan deal in January, leading them to a 1-0 Greek league win over Atromitos.

The 26-year-old also spent last season on loan at the Greek giants from Portugal’s Braga, scoring 15 goals in 32 appearances.

Kouka, who came from Ahly’s youth ranks and began his European career with Portugal’s Rio Ave in 2011, has 25 international caps, scoring five goals.
