PSG considering a bid for Arsenal’s Aubameyang
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly considering a bid for Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gabonese forward has long been linked with a departure from the Emirates with the possibility of winning trophies there in the near future looking extremely slim. The likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea have all been mentioned as interested parties, but Le10Sport apparently ‘understand’ that PSG are currently considering whether to try and beat them to the punch by submitting an offer of around €40 million for Aubameyang’s services.
The former Borussia Dortmund striker will turn 31 next month. Since arriving from the Signal Iduna Park, he has so far had 74 goal involvements (61 goals, 13 assists) in 97 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal and has been given the captain’s armband earlier this season. His pace and finishing ability make him extremely efficient in any attacking role.
His contract is about to enter its final year, and there can be very little doubt that concrete offers will start pouring in soon, from PSG or elsewhere, unless he signs a new deal. The Ligue 1 champions apparently want him to replace Edinson Cavani, who is set to leave the French capital as a free agent this summer.
