PSG are in a race against time to sign Mauro Icardi
Paris Saint-Germain are in a race against time to sign Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan on a permanent basis, according to Sky Sports.
Icardi joined the Ligue 1 champions on a season-long loan last summer, after several months of strife and uncertainty at Inter Milan during which he got on the wrong side of the Serie A club’s supporters and hierarchy, and was consequently stripped of captaincy. His spell in Paris has, however, been rather successful, with 20 goals and four assists in 31 appearances in all competitions.

But if PSG are to trigger the option to turn the loan deal into a permanent one for €70 million, which has been included in the initial agreement, they will have to step up their efforts soon as the option expire at the end of this month. If not, a new deal would have to be negotiated or Icardi would return to Inter, where he still has a contract running until 2022.
