Premier League Latest Transfer News

Over the last 48 hours, some major activity has happened that could well shape the upcoming season. With so much activity, 2021/22 might be the season that reshapes European football with 3 competitions instead of 2. Some of the Premier League’s busiest clubs in the transfer news headlines are Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea with some already strengthening their squads while the big news right now is the league champion’s double swoop for the Premier League’s hottest property.

Here’s the latest transfer news:

Manchester City

The 5-times Premier League champions will be delighted with the progress that’s gone on in the last 48 hours. Top target, Harry Kane, did not show for pre-season training as it looks like the England and Tottenham star is trying to force a move away. Kane now seems like he wants to go, and Spurs might have to lower their asking price to appease the England captain. Their other top-target is fans favourite, Jack Grealish.

News is emerging that a fee of £100 million has been agreed and Villa’s captain is keen to get it over the line so as to be included in Saturday’s charity Shield squad.

Aston Villa

The Midlanders are giving off the impression that Grealish will go, as they are currently the biggest spenders in the league, suggesting the club is buying to prepare for life without their top star. In just the past 24 hours, Villa has added another 2 luxury players.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey has joined for £25 million. At only 23-years-old, the Jamaican represents great value for money, and is seen to be able to play a similar role as the outgoing Grealish.

Plus, a signing that caught everyone by surprise was the capture of Southampton hitman, Danny Ings, again for £25 million. The England striker scored 34 goals in all competitions for the Saints last season, and seems to be productive wherever he goes.

Aston Villa has invested incredibly wisely this window, and if their new signings can hit the ground running, we might well be seeing them having a realistic chance at European qualification next season.

Tottenham Hotspur

The Spurs faithful will be glad to see the back of this Summer. The past 48 hours have intensified for them as Harry Kane still seems to be AWOL from training. If Kane does leave, then it is hard to see a replacement for him. Danny Ings was being heavily linked, but that won’t happen anymore. It’s hard to see a proven hitman to come to the club and may be forced to buy unproven foreign talent.

A fee of £47 million has been agreed for defender Cristian Romero, the Argentina international will complete his medical in the next 24 hours. Mikkel Damsgaard looks a likely signing should Kane leave this summer.

The hope for some teams is that big name transfers don’t always pay off, meaning that unproven talent may in fact work out better.
