Venue: Stade Mohammed V (Morocco)
Referee: Maguette N’Diaye
Despite the toughness of their clash against Moroccan side Raja in the second leg of the champions league quarter-finals, Egyptian giants Ahly are ready for this crucial clash that will take place in Casablanca on Friday.
The Red Devils got the first-leg advantage after their 2-1 win in Cairo earlier this week.
First Leg Highlights
The narrow win in Cairo rendered the second-leg very difficult for the ten-time African champions as a 1-0 win for the hosts would be sufficient for them to secure their place in the competition’s semis.
The Moroccan side announced that around 45.000 supporters will be present in Mohamad V Stadium to boost their chances.
Ahly players must show their experience and spirit in what could be a tense and nervy game following the first leg’s incidents.
The Moroccan side filed a complaint with the CAF against the referee of the game after awarding two penalties to Ahly and sending off team’s defender Hadhoudi.
Ahly will regain the services of their classy fullback Ali Maaloul who missed the first-leg due to a muscle injury.
An important boost for Ahly given the great capacities and experience of the Tunisian international.
On the other hand, Raja coach Rachid Taoussi admitted that his side’s mission will be very tough, adding that they are prepared for all scenarios of this important game.
Team’s star Mohamed Nahiri will be available in the second-leg after serving a one-match suspension as well as key midfielder Omar Argoune who missed the first leg due to injury.
