Live: Zamalek v Arab Contractors | Egyptian League

Zamalek hopes to extend their Egyptian Premier League lead when they face Arab Contractors tonight, who are suffering in the relegation zone.

The White Knights — who are leading the league’s table with 51 points after 23 matches — will be trying to maintain their undefeated streak and widen the gap with archrivals Ahly.

Portuguese coach Jesualdo Ferreira directed the previous league 3-2 win over Ceramica Cleopatra without his regular starters at the back, since left-backs Mohamed Abdel Shafy and Ahmed Fatouh, right-backs Hamza Mathlouthi and Hazem Emam, and central defenders Mahmoud Alaa and Mohamed Abdel Ghany are all out of commission, leaving only international center-back Mahmoud ‘El-Wensh’ Hamdy in the squad.

Zamalek’s arch-rivals Ahly now lie third on the league table with 45 points, six points behind the Whites, who have played two matches more.

Meanwhile, Arab contractors are suffering in the relegation zone as they are in 16th place on the table with 20 points.
