Al Ahly fall again in the Club World Cup | Ahly 2-4 Flamengo

Brazillian side Flamengo snagged the bronze medal of the Club World Cup after overcoming Egyptian side Al Ahly 4-2 at the Stade de Tanger, Morocco.

Gabriel Barbosa netted two penalties for the Brazilian side, while his strike partner Pedro also struck twice in Tangier, Morocco.

Ahmed Abdelkader had netted a brace for Ahly to give them the lead but after defender Ali Maaloul missed a penalty, Khaled Abdelfattah’s red card in the 69th minute tilted the game in Flamengo’s favour and they won emphatically.

Ahly started the tournament in style with an easy 3-0 win against Auckland City of New Zealand before defeating US side Seattle Sounders 1-0 in the quarters to set up a historic date with Real Madrid in semifinals.

Despite losing 4-1 in the semis on Wednesday, Ahly produced a convincing performance against the European champions.

Meanwhile, Flamengo opened their Club World Cup campaign with 3-2 loss to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal in the semi-final on Tuesday.

Spanish giants Real Madrid face Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia in the final in Rabat later on Saturday.
