Elshahat’s Double Secures Al Ahly’s Place in the Quarterfinals | VIDEO

On Saturday, Al Ahly advanced to the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League with a 3-0 triumph over Sudan’s AL Hilal in front of a crowd of just over 50,000 at the Cairo International Stadium.

Hussein El Shahat came off the bench and scored two goals to help Al Ahly secure a spot in the knockout phase in an impressive manner.

In the 64th minute, just seconds after coming on the pitch, Elshahat scored the first of his two goals. He received an excellent pass from Percy Tau and then fired past Al Hilal’s goalkeeper.

Mahmoud Kahraba put Al Ahly ahead 25 minutes into the game with an assist from Abdelkader. Kahraba had made several attempts before scoring.

The CAF Champions League quarterfinals draw will be held on 5 April.

Hussien El Shahat the hero of the match, attributed his two goals to his father who had passed away a few days prior to the game.
