The Egyptian national team, under the leadership of coach Rui Vitoria, faced their first setback as they suffered a 3-1 home defeat against Tunisia in a friendly match on Tuesday.
Under Vitoria’s guidance, the team had enjoyed an unbroken streak of success for more than a year, securing eight consecutive victories across all competitions since the Portuguese manager took charge in July 2022. However, the Carthage Eagles brought an end to his dream debut with the team.

Despite the disappointment of defeat, Vitoria has a four-month window to rectify his team’s weaknesses before the Africa Cup of Nations, slated for January 2024.
