Modern Future FC Triumphs over Pyramids FC in Thrilling Egyptian Super Cup Penalty Shootout

Modern Future FC booked their place in the Egyptian Super Cup final with an exhilarating penalty shootout win of 14-13 against Pyramids FC in the semifinals on Monday.

After a goalless draw, the fate of the match was decided through an extended penalty shootout, with both teams establishing a new record of 17 shots.

Modern Future FC is set to encounter the winner of the second semifinal between Ahly and Ceramica Cleopatra, slated for later on Monday. The final of the revamped Egyptian Super Cup is scheduled for Thursday.

Facing adversity, Modern Future FC had to make two substitutions due to injuries, introducing Mohamed Rabia and Bello Martins for Mohamed Abdel-Salam and Mohamed Farouk, respectively.

The initial half saw limited scoring opportunities for both teams, as Pyramids FC initiated minor attacks while Modern Future FC showcased a robust defense.

Pyramids FC entered the second half with increased determination, aiming for a victory.

A mere eight minutes into the second half, winger Abdallah El-Said approached scoring with a low strike near the goal.

In the 77th minute, substitute striker Ahmed Atef came close to providing Modern Future FC with the lead through a powerful strike from inside the area. However, Pyramids FC goalkeeper Ahmed Mayhoub made a remarkable save to thwart his attempt.
