Mo Salah Shatters Premier League Scoring Record

Mohamed Salah made Premier League history by becoming the all-time top scorer on opening day, netting his ninth goal in Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Ipswich in their 2024/25 season opener.

The Egyptian star executed a smooth one-two with Dominik Szoboszlai before sealing Liverpool’s second goal with a composed finish, following Diogo Jota’s opener.

Speaking about Salah after the match, Slot remarked, “If I see the work (Salah) puts in to maintain his fitness and stay ready for every game, I believe he has many more years ahead of him to play.”

“But I’m looking now at Brentford (the next game) and not at the end of the season!

“I don’t believe in individuals, I believe more in the team.

“Mo can score goals because of good runs from other players, or because of buildups from the team. So I think Mo also needs the team.”
