Former Egypt coach Hassan Shehata has signed a two-year deal with Zamalek after the Cairo giants vowed to fulfill his demands.

Hossam Hassan  was sacked after Zamalek finished second behind great rivals Al Ahly at the end of the Egyptian league.
Shehata resigned as Pharaohs coach in June following a 0-0 draw against South Africa in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

“We need around LE50 million to sign the new players requested by Shehata. We will sign them and pay the salaries of the players on installments,” Zamalek chairman Galal Ibrahim said on the club’s official website.

According to the contract, Shehata will be paid US $42,000 per month.

Egypt FA Media Director Azmi Megahed said the process is underway to recruit a new national side coach.
