Egyptian Premier league 09-16-2014 Round Up

Smouha made a high-flying start to their new Egyptian Premier League campaign, registering an emphatic 5-1 victory over newcomers Damanhour.

The win took Smouha, last season’s Egypt Cup finalists, to second spot following Gaish’s 5-0 win against another promoted outfit in El-Nasr a day earlier.

Maqassa 2-1 Ragaa.

Former Ahly man to have a stunning game was El-Sayed Hamdi, whose brace helped Maqassa to a 2-1 win over Ragaa.

Hamdi scored a goal either side of the interval, as newly-signed veteran keeper Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed conceded a goal through Mohamed El-Fayoumi in the 49th minute.

The final match of the day saw Masry and Ismaily play out a thrilling 2-2 draw in the Canal Derby, after the Dervishes let slip a two-goal lead.
