Egypt’s Ahly sack Spanish coach Garrido, 3 potential replacements lined up
The 46-year-old tactician, who signed a two-year contract with the Cairo giants in July 2014, was under fire after the team’s elimination from the CAF Champions League and poor results in the Egyptian Premier League

Yesterday the Al Ahly Director of Football verbally informed me that I will not be continuing as the Ahly Coach.
I am very disappointed to not be able to conclude this project and to deliver this bad news to you.
I will update you once the terms of the conclusion of my contractual relationship have been agreed and I am no longer officially the Ahly Coach.
In the meantime, I would like to thank you all for your messages of support.
Ahly have officially terminated the contract of their Spanish coach Juan Carlos Garrido after they were eliminated from the CAF Champions League.
After losing to Moghreb Tetouan of Morocco and exiting the CAF Champions League in the round of 16, Ahly board members officially told the coach his time with the club was over.
